Focus Fast takes the privacy and security of our users seriously. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it.

By using Focus Fast, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. This policy may be updated from time to time — we'll let you know of material changes by email or by posting a notice in the app.

Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and any profile details you provide (such as your name).

Hearing profile. If you take the in-app hearing test, we collect and store your audiogram data — the frequency thresholds measured for each ear. This data is used solely to personalize your audio experience. We do not share it with third parties or use it for advertising.

Session data. We collect information about your listening sessions — such as the category played, session duration, and neural effect settings — to power features like streak tracking and to improve the product.

Payment information. Payment is processed by a third-party payment processor (Stripe). We do not store your full card number or payment credentials — only a tokenized reference to your payment method.

Usage and analytics. We collect anonymized information about how you use the app (pages visited, features used, errors encountered) to improve the product. This data does not identify you personally.

Cookies. We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and understand how the app is used. See the Cookies section below.

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, operate, and improve the Focus Fast service
• Personalize your audio experience using your hearing profile
• Process payments and manage your subscription
• Send you service-related emails (account confirmation, subscription receipts, product updates)
• Respond to your support requests and questions
• Analyze usage patterns to improve features and fix bugs
• Comply with legal obligations

We follow a permission-based email policy. We will not send unsolicited marketing emails. All emails include an unsubscribe link.

Your hearing profile is sensitive personal data and we treat it accordingly:

• It is used only to apply a personalized EQ to your audio — nothing else
• It is never sold, shared with advertisers, or used for profiling
• It is stored securely and linked to your account
• You can delete it at any time from your account settings or by emailing hey@focusfast.org
• The hearing test is not a medical diagnostic tool — results are for audio personalization only

We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties.

We may share your information with:

• Service providers — companies that help us operate Focus Fast (hosting, payment processing, analytics, email delivery). These providers are contractually prohibited from using your information for any purpose other than providing services to us.
• Legal obligations — if required to do so by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of Focus Fast or its users.
• Business transfers — in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred. We will notify you before this happens and you will have the option to delete your account.

Focus Fast uses cookies to:

• Keep you signed in between sessions
• Remember your audio preferences and settings
• Measure usage and performance (via anonymized analytics)

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect your ability to stay signed in or use certain features.

We use anonymized analytics (via Vercel Analytics) to understand usage patterns. This does not use advertising cookies and does not track you across other websites.

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide the Services. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

Anonymized, aggregated analytics data (which cannot identify you) may be retained indefinitely to help improve the product.

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
• Request deletion of your personal data
• Object to or restrict certain processing of your data
• Receive a copy of your data in a portable format
• Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest.

No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we take your security seriously, we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at hey@focusfast.org.

Focus Fast is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child, please contact us at hey@focusfast.org and we will delete it promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will notify you by email or with a prominent notice in the app.
